Hello my name is Evangeline Smith, I am the director of the Sarah Allen CDC. I am a lifelong resident of New Orleans,Louisiana. I am a graduate of the Orleans Parish school system. I have work with children for 25+ years. Before, becoming a director of Sarah Allen, I have had the pleasure in working with children of all ages ethnicity and educational background from adolescent teens with mild to moderate mental and physical disabilities ages ranging from 12-18 years, infant/toddler lead teacher ages eight weeks-1 year, Toddler lead teacher ages 2 -3 years and Pre-K for lead teacher. After that devastation of hurricane Katrina and being displaced to Fort Worth Texas, I returned to New Orleans and began my In-Home childcare services while attending Delgado community college where I obtained my Associates Degree in early childhood education. I’m currently in enrolled to attend Southern University of New Orleans (SUNO) to obtain a bachelor’s in education with a minor in Business

I stand firm on guideline and rules of the Early Childhood Curriculum and Classroom which will be Developmentally Appropriate Practices and meet all children educational milestones and goals as well as, accommodating diverse learners and those with disabilities without bias. As an Educator and Director, it will be my obligation and responsibility to observe, assist and teach each child as an individual, to provide a quality education, and safe environment that will help them learn, develop and grow. My leadership and passion for education will help build a solid yet strong platform of communication with families  for each child’s individual growth.
